"Adrift in the Ice-Fields" by Charles Winslow Hall, is an action filled adventure story about English sportsmen who venture into the dangerous ice-fields of the Gulf of St. Lawrence for a hunting trip. The group consisting of experienced hunters and their reliable host, Captain Lund start off in St. Pierre Island getting ready for the upcoming spring hunting season. As they get ready for the hunting season, the sportsmen share stories, building friendships and camaraderie over dinner, while Captain Lund shares superstitions which foreshadows difficult challenges and teases the dangers that will soon be faced.
