Summary

"The Other Now" by Murray Leinster is a science fiction story exploring love, grief, and reality's flexible nature. Jimmy Patterson is struggling with the death of his wife, Jane. Strange things start happening pushing him to think about alternate realities. He finds Jane's diary with new writing in her handwriting and starts to suspect a connection between their lives. With the help of his friend Haynes, Jimmy starts to believe in parallel "nows," where Jane is alive in one, and he is dead in another. The diary continues to push hope, and the thought of him and Jane reuniting looms. Jimmy decides to try to merge reality and disappears. The story is very emotional about the feelings of love, and the concept of parallel realities.
