Summary

"New Amazonia: A Foretaste of the Future" by George Corbett is a science-fiction story that imagines a world where women lead and innovate. The story starts with the main character feeling annoyed by an article that doesn't take women's rights seriously. She falls asleep and wakes up in a beautiful garden, where she meets Augustus Fitz-Musicus, who is just as confused as she is, and then Dora, a woman who is very tall and shows them around. In this new place, women hold the power, challenging the old rules of society, featuring big changes in how people dress and how they think, highlighting women's successes. The novel uses these changes to talk about how gender roles are changing and what we expect from each other.
