People Soup

"People Soup" by Alan Arkin is a funny story about two kids, Bob and Bonnie, who get into a crazy adventure in their kitchen. Bob, who loves to experiment, makes a weird soup with all sorts of things. His little sister, Bonnie, helps him, but when she tastes the soup, she turns into a chicken! The story then follows their humorous journey as Bonnie gets used to being a chicken, and Bob tries to change her back. Eventually, Bob ends up tasting the soup, too, and finds himself turning into a big St. Bernard dog. The book is all about how creative and fun kids can be, and it shows how much Bob and Bonnie love each other, even when things get really silly.
