Bridge Crossing

"Bridge Crossing" by Dave Dryfoos is a science fiction story set in a shattered future, where the echoes of a lost civilization haunt the landscape. In this world, android soldiers patrol the ruins, and a group known as "Invaders" pose a threat, while Roddie, a young man, struggles to find his place. Plagued by feelings of isolation, Roddie longs to prove himself amidst what he sees as the cold perfection of the androids. As they make their way towards the remains of the Golden Gate Bridge, Roddie wrestles with his understanding of humanity, purpose, and what it truly means to be superior. Through trials and tribulations, Roddie comes to terms with his identity and embraces his humanity, ultimately understanding his own worth in this broken world.
