Summary

"The Celestial Blueprint" by Philip José Farmer is a mid-20th century science fiction story, where art, ambition, and payback clash in a future world. This world has a strict "Celestial Blueprint" that controls everyone's life. The main character, B. T. Revanche, a rich and heartless man, really hates the people of Dafess, a city with harsh social rules and religious views. Wanting revenge for how they treated him before, Revanche teams up with Da Vincelleo, a strange artist and inventor, to turn Dafess's religious beliefs against its own people. As the story goes on, the people of Dafess excitedly wait for their promised rescue, but instead, they face cruel revenge. Da Vincelleo's detailed plan creates robot police that show the messed-up history of the city’s beliefs, leading to a wild and darkly funny ending that makes you think about fairness and revenge in a divided world.
