Summary

"Spacerogue" by Webber Martin is a science fiction tale set in a universe filled with interplanetary commerce and deceptive schemes. The central character, Barr Herndon, is fueled by a burning need to avenge the downfall of his home and family, caused by the cruel Seigneur Krellig. Starting with a turning point at an auction where he buys and then euthanizes a proteus, Herndon's path is loaded with peril. He navigates the aristocratic circles of Borlaam. His quest for payback has him become involved with Lady Moaris, the wife of a rich nobleman. This leads to tense betrayals and battles for power, all building up to a final showdown at a royal court event. The story asks important questions about what vengeance costs and what true freedom really means, all wrapped up in a thrilling conclusion.
