Summary

"The Hunted Heroes" by Robert Silverberg is a science fiction story set on Mars that explores themes of survival, heroism, and revenge. Earthlings, including Ron and his wife Valerie, are dispatched to the dangerous Martian landscape to secure uranium for their home planet, but their mission takes a turn when they encounter the vengeful Gregory Ledman. Ledman, fueled by a deep-seated grudge against the Geig Corps for what he perceives as injustices, captures Ron and Valerie to quench his thirst for revenge. As Ron and Valerie struggle against the harsh conditions of their surroundings and Ledman's bitter determination, they must strive to survive and find a way to change Ledman's view of revenge. Through conflict comes the possibility of compassion, understanding, and a resolution that allows them to finish their vital initiative for Earth.
