The fire of Asshurbanipal

"The Fire of Asshurbanipal" by Robert E. Howard is an adventure into the heart of ancient Persia, where the pursuit of legendary riches spirals into a terrifying battle against supernatural forces. Steve Clarney and Yar Ali search for the "Fire of Asshurbanipal," a gem hidden within the lost city of Kara-Shehr, but their quest quickly turns perilous after discovering the gem clasped in the hands of a skeleton. The story weaves together elements of adventure, horror, and historical fantasy, drawing readers into a world where folklore becomes reality and the line between the earthly and the supernatural blurs. The story builds to a frenzied encounter against human enemies and nightmarish entities guarding the gem. With heart-pounding action and potent imagery Howard spins a yarn that leaves a lasting sense of unease and wonder.
