Summary

"We Girls: a Home Story" by A. D. T. (Adeline Dutton Train) Whitney is a story set in the late 1800s, following the Holabird sisters, Ruth, Rosamond, and Barbara, as they face social pressures and family duties while trying to figure out what they want in life. The family is getting ready to leave their small town for a nicer home in a place called Westover, and through the move, the author shows how everyone relates to each other. The main character, Ruth, wants to help her family and the story explores themes of change, figuring out who you are, and feeling like you belong somewhere, while the girls balance their dreams with what society expects from them. As the Holabirds get ready for their move, the struggle with the reality of the situation mixed with their ambitions, and this is all shown off with funny moments and genuine emotion
