Summary

"Woman in the Nineteenth Century" by Margaret Fuller is a powerful feminist piece from the 1800s, examining women's place in a world controlled by men. It argues women should be free and equal, living their lives to the fullest, intellectually and emotionally, not just as homemakers. Fuller starts by explaining why it's important to talk about women's rights, pointing out that they aren't treated as real citizens and are stuck doing only housework. She uses her own stories and big ideas to make a case for freeing women, connecting it to broader changes needed in society and basic human rights; setting a tone of passion and importance that still speaks to feminist ideas today.
