"The Little Colonel at Boarding-School" by Annie F. Johnston is a story about a girl named Lloyd Sherman, nicknamed the Little Colonel, and her pal, Betty Lewis, as they start going to boarding school. The book is probably from a long time ago, and it's all about how these friends go from just coming to school during the day to living there. They're super excited to make new friends and have lots of fun. The story shows us what it's like to be a kid, the importance of having good friends, and how you grow as a person. The beginning of the story is about the girls packing their bags and saying goodbye to their friends, Rob Moore and others, from Locust. It is happy and a little sad because they are closing the book on summer, but the ending of that chapter opens another book, and we are getting ready to take the journey with them.
