Summary

"The Voice of the Void" by John W. Campbell, Jr. is an early 20th-century science fiction story set in a future where Earth is dying because the sun is on its way out. Humanity is faced with the challenge of either finding a new home or facing extinction when an astronomer named Hal Jus and his team find planets that could be humanity's last hope. As they work to make space travel possible, hoping to reach Betelguese, they meet powerful beings made of living energy that stand in the way; it becomes a race against time to survive as they deal with problems on Earth and in space. Ultimately, the book shows how humanity's resolve and smart thinking help it move into a new and promising home among the stars.
