Summary

"A Voice from the Inner World" by A. Hyatt Verrill is a thrilling science fiction horror story about the steamship "Chiriqui" and its ill-fated encounter with a radiant green meteor. Instead of destruction, the meteor leads them into a hidden world beneath the earth, where monstrous, gigantic cannibal women capture the ship with a strange machine. James Berry, the lone survivor, struggles to understand and survive this bizarre reality, witnessing the gruesome customs of these beings and their city. As Berry desperately seeks escape and sends out a plea for help, he uncovers the horrifying truth about the fate of others who have met the same end. The story explores power, fear, cannibalism, and survival, culminating in a chilling ending that leaves the reader questioning the nature of humanity.
