The red fetish

"The Red Fetish" by Frank Belknap Long, Jr., tells a tale of two men stranded on a desolate island, grappling with starvation, primal fear, and their unraveling sanity. Bill Cullen and Wellington Van Wyck face agonizing thirst and a terrifying fear of cannibals, leading to a desperate attempt to swim to safety that is full of sharks and other dangers.. The horror builds as Van Wyck suffers a horrific death by shark, leaving Bill to fall into the hands of the cannibals. The story crescendos as Bill, now mentally broken by the events, is inducted into the cannibalistic tribe because they are grateful for a mysterious object that washed ashore.
