"Cupid of Campion" by Francis J. Finn is a lighthearted adventure story about a young boy named Clarence Esmond, who dreams of excitement and sets out to find his "Bright-eyed Goddess of Adventure." Meeting interesting characters, like the playful butcher's boy, Abe Thompson, and a band of gypsies, Clarence's journey kicks off with a funny chat with Abe beside a riverbank. But things soon go wrong when one of Abe's pranks leaves Clarence stuck in a boat, unable to paddle back. Alone and facing the river's challenges before being captured by gypsies, Clarence is thrown into a world of comic encounters in this coming-of-age story with a jolly tone.
