Summary

"The Club of Masks" by Allen Upward is a thrilling detective novel set in early 20th century London, where a mysterious murder at the secretive Domino Club pulls the reader into a world of deception and intrigue. Dr. Cassilis, assistant to poison expert Sir Frank Tarleton, finds himself entangled in the investigation after a masked dancer is found dead, seemingly poisoned. As Dr. Cassilis tries to hide his involvement from Sir Frank, he and Inspector Charles from Scotland Yard uncover a complex network of secrets, high-stakes affairs, and potential royal connections within the club. This sets the stage for a suspenseful chase to reveal the truth hidden behind the masks. Ultimately, the characters face their own secrets and hidden lives, as the line between hunter and hunted gets increasingly blurred.
