Summary

"The Wisdom of Fools" by Margaret Wade Campbell Deland is a story set in a time when what people thought heavily influenced lives, focusing on Amy Townsend and Reverend William West, who are planning to get married and dealing with tough questions about love and doing what's right. It starts with a sweet scene of them talking about their plans under a tree, but soon gets into deeper stuff like how people judge them and worries about secrets. William, especially, is struggling with something he did in the past – a forgery – and whether he should tell Amy about it, which could really mess things up between them. The story looks at what it means to be honest and how hard it can be when facing your mistakes and figuring out how to build a future together.
