Summary

"French without a master: A farce in one act" by Tristan Bernard is an early 20th-century comedic play that showcases the amusing chaos caused by language differences in a bustling hotel. The story follows Gerald Forsyth and Séraphine Chanoine-Malherbe, a pair trying to secretly get married in London, but things get tricky with Séraphine's dad shows up looking for her; the situation spins out of control when he meets Percy, an interpreter who can't actually speak French. The play is full of funny misunderstandings, mistaken identities, and the weird ways people connect.
