Summary

"Under Handicap" by Jackson Gregory is a story where two well-off friends, Greek Conniston and Roger Hapgood, leave their comfortable lives behind and head into the harsh desert seeking excitement. The stark surroundings force them to face challenges that their privileged backgrounds never prepared them for, pushing them to question who they truly are. As they get off a train in a desolate town, Greek finds himself drawn to the desert's beauty and its tough inhabitants, especially a captivating young woman he spots on horseback. However, the culture shock of the West has a different impact on Roger, who finds that he does not enjoy the change. Through this journey, the once-sheltered men are on the path to discovering their identity as they adjust to their new surroundings.
