Summary

"The Mighty Dead" by William Campbell Gault is a science fiction story set in a future where Earth has spread to nearby planets, but books are banned because of strict censorship. The main character, Doak Parker, is a Security Officer who has to look into a group that's secretly printing books. His investigation takes him to Dubbinville, where folks are secretly sharing stories even though it's against the law. As Doak learns about their work, he starts to wonder if the rules are right, and he has to decide whether to follow the rules or fight for what he believes in, which shows how strong human creativity is and how important words can be.
