Summary

"The Definite Object: A Romance of New York" by Jeffery Farnol is a turn-of-the-century tale about a wealthy man who feels there's something missing from his life, and so with his butler and a young boy he befriended, leaves his luxurious home, and sets off on a quest through the city to find it and the meaning of his life. The story follows the man as he explores the different parts of the city and meets compelling characters. It is a lighthearted story about friendship, and finding purpose, when a millionaire goes from having everything to finding what matters most.

About the Author

Jeffery Farnol was a British writer from 1907 until his death in 1952, known for writing more than 40 romance novels, often set in the Georgian Era or English Regency period, and swashbucklers. He, with Georgette Heyer, largely initiated the Regency romantic genre.
