Trouble

"Trouble" by George O. Smith is a science fiction story set in the middle of the 20th century. The story is told through the eyes of Tom Lionel, a consulting engineer dealing with a split personality, which creates funny and interesting situations as both sides try to handle problems in their own ways. Tom gets annoyed by his physicist's wild ideas and costly purchases, like a mass spectrograph he thinks is pointless. Things get intense when the physicist starts using lab equipment for crazy experiments, like studying ghosts and trying to control antigravity. These two personalities clash constantly, eventually realizing that working together might be better than fighting as they face surprising scientific problems.
