The Twins in the South

"The Twins in the South" by Dorothy Whitehill is a story that follows twins Janet and Phyllis Page as they start their lives at Hilltop School, where they face new friendships, rivalries, and the struggles of fitting in at a boarding school. When the twins first get to Hilltop, they are both nervous and excited for what's to come, but they quickly have to deal with the headmaster, Miss Hull, who wants to split them up, something they don't want. As they get used to their new environment, they meet other girls and look forward to all the friendships they will develop, especially when their friend Sally arrives; the school provides a pretty and traditional setting for all of their adventures. The first parts of the story introduce important people, from classmates who are nice to those who will be rivals, as the twins learn how to handle school life together.
