"The Taming of the Shrew" by William Shakespeare is a play from the 1500s that's all about love, marriage, and how men and women acted in those times. It tells of Katherina, a tough woman who doesn't want to get married, and Petruchio, a guy who tries to "tame" her. At the start, a prank is played on a drunk guy named Christopher Sly, who wakes up thinking he's a nobleman and gets to watch the rest of the play. Then Lucentio comes to town with his servant Tranio to try and marry Bianca, but her dad says her older, harder-to-marry sister Katherina has to get hitched first. All these people get mixed up in the funny and dramatic story of how Katherina and Petruchio end up together.
