Summary

"Worrying Won't Win" by Montague Glass is a funny assortment of writings from the early 1900s that looks at what was happening in society and politics back then, especially during World War I. The book tells about the funny talks and relationships between two Jewish businessmen, Abe Potash and Morris Perlmutter, as they deal with the problems of that time. Glass uses their funny talks to look at subjects like politics, war, and what people thought was normal, making readers laugh and think at the same time. At the opening of the story, Abe and Morris have a clever discussion about royalty and the problems czars were having, like when the Russian czar fell from power and how political marriages affected things. They jokingly discuss what it would be like to be a czar now compared to in the past, mixing smart humor with thoughts on how politics were changing, which sets the tone for the book, showing how Glass cleverly uses humor to talk about serious things and asks readers to think about how ridiculous both old and new events can be.
