Miss Pat at School

"Miss Pat at School" by Pemberton Ginther is a story about two sisters, Patricia and Elinor, who begin attending the Academy of Fine Arts and face the exciting and sometimes daunting challenges of a new school and trying to fit in. The story introduces Patricia and Elinor’s anticipation as they arrive at the Academy, which inspires and slightly scares them. Patricia, who is energetic, is different than Elinor and her careful personality; as they make jokes about their art dreams, we come to see them as complex characters. As the sisters meet people, from students to instructors, their differing opinions on art and how to express oneself become known. Patricia is excited but unsure, and the friends and enemies they make suggest there will be arguments and character growth throughout the book.
