"That Girl in Black; and, Bronzie" by Mrs. Molesworth is a tale set in the late 1800s about a young man named Despard Norreys who is a bit spoiled and trying to find his way in the world. He goes to a party where he meets Maisie Fforde, a girl always seen in a black dress. The story is about love and how people judge each other based on where they come from. Despard isn't sure about himself and has to deal with what people expect from him. When he meets Maisie, he doesn't think much of her at first, but he soon realizes she is beautiful and has a lot going on inside. The book shows how they start to care for each other, even though they are very different.
