Summary

"Clutterbuck's Treasure" by Frederick Whishaw is an early 20th-century adventure where young Godfrey Bernard Hewetson unexpectedly finds himself in a high-stakes treasure hunt. After his father dies and leaves him broke, Godfrey's life takes a surprising turn when he gets tangled up in the affairs of a wealthy old man named Mr. Clutterbuck. Upon Clutterbuck's passing, Godfrey and others learn of a daring challenge outlined in Clutterbuck's will: a race to find a hidden fortune buried somewhere in Bechuanaland. This sets Godfrey on a thrilling and dangerous journey marked by rivalry and deception as he competes against other potential heirs eager to claim the hidden wealth, forcing him to navigate treacherous landscapes and outsmart cunning adversaries right from the start.
