Daddy-Long-Legs

"Daddy-Long-Legs" by Jean Webster is a heartwarming story about an orphan named Jerusha Abbott, who gets a life-changing chance to go to college thanks to a mysterious rich man she calls "Daddy-Long-Legs." The entire story is told through Jerusha's funny and honest letters to him, where she shares all about her new life, her amazing friends, and how she is learning to see herself in a completely different light. Starting out worried but hopeful, Jerusha grabs onto her chance, filling her letters with stories about her time at college and about finding her own path, far away from her old life at the orphanage and it is full of hope and laughter, but also touches on bigger ideas about society, like class and being a woman in the early 1900s.
