Summary

"The Wonderful Garden; or, The Three Cs" by E. Nesbit is a children's story about three siblings whose journey, starting with a longing for excitement and color, leads them into a mysterious garden. Caroline, Charles, and Charlotte try to make their house less grey while their parents are in India. They get the chance to visit their Great-Uncle Charles in the country and hope to find excitement and maybe even magic. Their adventure leads them to a secret passage to a beautiful garden, which becomes the center of their exploration where they try to figure out the mysteries of magic and the weird inheritance of their uncle's home.

About the Author

Edith Nesbit was an English writer and poet, who published her books for children as E. Nesbit. She wrote or collaborated on more than 60 such books. She was also a political activist and co-founder of the Fabian Society, a socialist organisation later affiliated to the Labour Party.
