Tomorrow the World!

"Tomorrow the World!" by Geoff St. Reynard is a science fiction story about a man who finds out he's a descendant of Neanderthals and gets caught up in a battle between them and modern humans. The book looks at ideas like who we are, how we change, and the fights between different groups. It's set in a time like our own, but it goes into the basic feelings and past memories of a man who starts to remember his ancient family after he does something violent. Bill Cuff, who writes adventure stories, suddenly realizes he's part Neanderthal after fighting with a museum guard. As the story goes on, Cuff struggles with who he is now and his new powers, thinking about his family history and the violent past between humans and Neanderthals. He meets others like him, called the Old Companions, who share his old memories and feelings and are planning to take over the world again. The story ends with the Neanderthals declaring war on humans, ready to fight for control, mixing scary and science fiction elements to make us think about what it really means to be human.
