Summary

"My Shipmate—Columbus" by Stephen Marlowe is a science fiction tale that centers around a college student's unbelievable voyage through time. Danny Jones, inherits a peculiar trunk from his grand-uncle, a device rumored to be a time machine powered by sheer belief. Transported to 1492, Danny finds himself as Martin Pinzon, amidst the crew of Christopher Columbus. Through Danny's eyes, the reader sees a Columbus wrestling with uncertainty and doubt, his resolve wavering as he starts his journey into the unknown. Danny's presence becomes pivotal as he strives to bolster Columbus’s spirit and set his course toward the New World. The interwoven themes of faith, doubt, and historical manipulation create a compelling narrative that challenges perceptions of history and the power of conviction.
