Summary

"Space Brat" by Henry Slesar is a science fiction story about an alien invasion that targets Earth's most unexpected weakness: a baby. The story follows aliens from Nahrla, who decide the best way to conquer Earth is to send an agent disguised as an infant, believing humans inherently trust babies. We see the alien war council planning their invasion, switching to the lives of the Bryan family, who unknowingly adopt the alien baby. The story shows how differently humans and aliens view babies, showing the innocence of children against the aliens' evil plot. This clash between the couple and the aliens' plans builds to an exciting finish.
