"The Invader" by Alfred Coppel is a science fiction story about a desperate alien from the planet Triomed who comes to Earth in search of a way to save his people. To survive, he takes over a human body, excited at first by the new experiences the Earth provides. However, his excitement soon turns to fear as he realizes how terrifying he is to the humans around him. Marin and writing for a variety of pulp magazines and later "slick" publishers. Though writing in a variety of genres, including action thrillers, he is known for his science fiction stories which comprise both short stories and novels.
