Summary

"Black is White" by George Barr McCutcheon is a story that kicks off with two old pals, Danbury Dawes and Joseph Riggs, on the edge of their seats, waiting for a message from their long-lost buddy, James Brood. When James's son, Frederic, finds out his dad has tied the knot again after all these years, it stirs up a heap of mixed feelings and throws their family ties into chaos. The story dives into how Frederic deals with his rocky relationship with his dad, who seems pretty distant, while also dealing with a brand-new stepmom who just showed up. The book sets a stage full of emotional struggles, digging deep into what family means and how we figure out who we are, all while looking back at the shared history of families.
