Summary

"The Impudent Comedian & Others" by Frank Frankfort Moore is a collection of tales set in the late 1800s, spotlighting the adventures of Nelly Gwyn, a clever actress whose world collides with the glamour and danger of the royal court; it begins with a spirited conversation between Nelly and her mother, exploring themes of ambition, identity, and the differences between social classes. Through the witty dialogue and the affectionate yet strained dynamic between Nelly and her mother, readers witness Nelly's journey from an orange seller to a famous actress, while an old flame from her mother's past reappears, stirring up a mix of emotions and foreshadowing intense love and societal expectations that shape Nelly's life. Thus, these entanglements draw readers into the charming and thrilling stories that await.

About the Author
