Summary

"Short Snorter" by Charles Einstein is a science fiction story about Fred and Alice Daniels who meet Mr. Steariot, an alien from Venus, while on vacation. Finding a red flying saucer in the woods begins their unbelievable adventure. Mr. Steariot seems normal, but everyone struggles to accept that he is from another planet; they particularly question his Venusian banknote, a five-djino bill, which is a souvenir from his home. The story cleverly looks at how people often doubt the incredible and how obsessed they are with money, choosing skepticism over accepting the extraordinary things that happen around them.
