"The Second Deluge" by Garrett Putman Serviss is a science fiction story about a scientist named Cosmo Versál. He finds out that Earth will crash into a nebula, causing a huge flood. Cosmo tries to warn everyone, even putting up posters in New York, but most people don't believe him. He then builds an ark, like Noah, to save some people from the flood.
