Summary

"Star, Bright" by Mark Clifton is a science fiction story that follows a father's journey to understand his extraordinary daughter. The central theme explores exceptional intelligence and telepathy through the eyes of young Star. The story begins as Pete Holmes realizes that Star possesses cognitive abilities far beyond those of an average child. Star, joined by her friend Robert, learns to use her intellect, exploring abstract concepts such as the Moebius strip to develop teleportation. Their escapades challenge traditional views of time, space, and history. Pete struggles to protect Star while accepting her unique nature, raising questions about societal standards of intelligence and the very fabric of reality.
