Sir Richard's grandson : $b or, A soldier's son

"Sir Richard's Grandson: or, A Soldier's Son" by Eleanora H. Stooke is a late 19th-century story centered on Dick Gidley, a young boy living in India with his soldier father and mother. Dick's frail health leads to a life-altering decision: he must leave his parents and sail to England to live with relatives, including his strict grandfather, Sir Richard; ultimately, Dick's arrival in England sparks a tale of family complexities, obligation, and self-discovery as he adapts to a new life while facing his grandfather's disapproval of his father, all of which highlights themes of Dick's innocence as he navigates his uncharted path.
