Summary

"The Shadow of the Czar" by John R. Carling is a historical fiction novel set in 1845, telling the story of Captain Paul Cressingham, a British officer seeking adventure in Dalmatia. His life takes an unexpected turn when he encounters Barbara, a captivating woman who has escaped from a convent.
