"Luke's Wife" by Evelyn R. Garratt is a story set in the early 1900s that follows Rachel as she marries Luke, a clergyman, and has to learn to adjust to her new life. The audience sees Rachel facing the difficulties of fitting into Luke's world, which is full of responsibilities, but also his mother. The story shows the complicated relationships in their home, Rachel's worries about not being adequate as a clergyman's wife, and her need to help Luke while also dealing with her feelings of jealousy. Through loving moments and new arguments, the start gets ready for Rachel to learn to accept who she is and to understand what her husband does for work, all while wanting their relationship to grow.
