Summary

"True to a Type, Vol. 2 (of 2)" by Robert Cleland is a story from long ago that looks at love and what people want, and what they must do because of how society works, all through the experiences of its characters. The story is especially about Joseph Naylor and Rose Hillyard, and how their connection changes over time, as well as other characters such as Wilkie and Margaret who add interesting challenges to the situation. It starts with characters stuck in a fisherman's hut after a storm, showing how they interact and who they are as people. Joseph likes Rose, but he isn't completely sure of himself, and Rose also struggles with her feelings for him. Their relationship shows how difficult it can be when what you want is different from what society expects, and explores all the confusing feelings they have as they figure things out. Overall, it seems to want to go further into what love and commitment really mean.
