Summary

"High Finance" by Otto H. Kahn is a speech given to newspaper publishers that examines how the public sees the world of finance in the United States. This work discusses what "high finance" really means, pointing out common misunderstandings about it and highlighting how important it is to the country's economy. Kahn explains that finance isn't just about risky deals or taking advantage of people, but it's actually about organizing money to help create jobs and build things. He defends the people working in finance, admitting that they've made mistakes in the past but also showing how the industry is improving with new rules and a stronger sense of ethics. Kahn encourages people in finance to be open, honest, and helpful to their communities, so they can gain the public's trust and show everyone how they help the economy grow and stay steady.
