Summary

"Right Above Race" by Otto H. Kahn is a persuasive argument for prioritizing national loyalty over ethnic ties, penned during World War I. The book highlights the importance of Americans, particularly those with German roots, to pledge their allegiance to their country above all else. It champions American principles and vigorously condemns Prussian militarism, urging all Americans to come together in opposition. The author uses his platform to advocate for a robust American nationalism amidst conflict. He looks at his own background while standing firmly against the German regime, which he views as a danger. The author implores his fellow citizens with German heritage to reject any sympathy for Germany and instead unite for liberty and democracy through defeating oppressive forces, supporting his points with personal stories and observations on how German society changed before the war.
