The Man from Jericho

"The Man from Jericho" by Edwin Carlile Litsey is a story set in the post-Civil War South, in Kentucky, circling around Major Thomas Dudley and his daughter, Julia, as they strive to safeguard their magnificent horse, The Prince, from a looming menace. After a storm, with threats coming from every direction, Major Dudley learns that The Prince, previously on the brink of death, is improving, but this relief is short-lived. It becomes evident that someone intends to poison the horse, with Devil Marston as the prime suspect and their most likely rival. Amidst the turmoil, a stranger's arrival sparks action and heightens tensions, igniting a series of events that tests their family bonds and social standing, and their courage, in the defense of their honor and way of life.
