"Wilhelm Meister's Apprenticeship and Travels, Vol. I (of 2)" by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe is a story about a young man named Wilhelm Meister trying to find his place in the world and become who he is meant to be. Wilhelm is in love with Mariana, but they face challenges because other people want Mariana too. At the same time, Wilhelm really wants to work in the theater, even though his father has other ideas for him. An older family servant, Barbara, offers her wisdom as Wilhelm deals with his feelings, his dreams, and what society expects from him as he tries to find love and artistic success.
