Summary

"Sweet Tooth" by Robert F. Young is a humorous science fiction story where a small town is turned upside down by two hungry alien monsters with a taste for cars. Dexter Foote, a curious newspaper reporter, is thrust into the chaos when these "Vehicle-Eating Monsters" (VEMs) arrive, munching on metal and creating havoc. He teams up with the local sheriff and the army to stop the creatures, leading to ridiculous situations and military mishaps. Through his investigation, Dexter uncovers the bizarre origins and motivations of the VEMs, finding humor and absurdity in humanity's clash with these strange extraterrestrial visitors and our own weird attachment to stuff.
