Summary

"A Knyght Ther Was" by Robert F. Young is a science fiction story from the 60's about Mallory, a time traveler who steals from the past. Mallory travels to old England to find the Holy Grail. Using advanced technology made to look like it's from the medieval times, Mallory becomes Sir Galahad. He goes on a journey full of knights and old customs that pushes Mallory to rethink what bravery and goodness really mean. In the beginning, Mallory shows up in sixth-century Britain in his time machine. He gets ready for his mission by wearing special armor. As he travels through the forest to Carbonek Castle, he looks forward to seeing legendary people from history. He then talks with Jason Perfidion, who also travels through time but doesn't think the Grail is real. After a meeting at the castle, Mallory's adventure takes an unexpected path when he finds a woman named Rowena who knows where the Grail is.
